How much do you think private security contractors like Blackwater charge private companies? Greetings, I am doing a report on private security companies like Blackwater, Dyncorp, etc. I am wondering if anyone knew an estimate of how much these companies charge for corporate/business security in places like the Middle East. For example, if a medium sized trading company wanted to open a center in a risky country, what do you think the industry charge would be?
Are there local private security companies working on ranches in Texas? I have read that there are PMCs or PSCs working on ranches in Texas, near the border. The article I read basically said that you have to know someone to get in. This was an older edition, so I am looking to see if anybody knows what the companies are. If you are part of a group please contact me directly. Semper Fi
What does it takes to join private security companies like Hart Sercurity Limited and Blackwater USA? I had been very interested in security since the September 11 attacks and wanted to step into it as a my career. Ever since National Geographic Channel's broadcast of "Kill Zone Iraq", I had been really interested to work as a private security contractor in hostile environments like Afghanistan and Iraq despite contractors' lives are always at risk! It is not just the huge money which motivates me but it's the nature of the job which interests me! I'm looking for the 'real deal'! I wanted to play a big role in helping with the reconstruction efforts in war-torn nations! I hate sitting back and watch the news everyday and not play a part in it! I had also served in the military for 2 years in my country and had being taught military tactics, weapons' handling and also some counter-terrorism tactics! But I don't know if all that is enough to get me a job at Hart Limited! I had sent in my application and still waiting for a reply! I wanted the job really badly!

how to start my own private security company? looking for any good advice about what steps i need to take in order to start my own private security company in chicago, il. things like how do i get clients and what a contract looks like and so forth. please...no silly, or smart replies. if you don't know then don't answer.
How do I start up a private security company like Blackwater? I don't want a bunch of hippies who know nothing about the military coming on here and telling me how Blackwater guys are "murderers" and "thugs". I want to start my own security company that is like Blackwater. I want to be able to design my own weapons, provide my guys with armor I designed and that I know is adequate, and be able to contribute to keeping law and order in time of peace (like Blackwater did in New Orleans) and help in time of war if more men are needed to fight.
Joining a private security company? DO private security companies such as Blackwater, Intercom Security, and Aegis require you to take a lie detector. WHat process do you go through to become part of these companies?
Can a private security company pull you over on public roads? Can a security company, such ans Wackenhut, pull you over for speeding or any other reason in a gated community? The roads in the community are public though. Also do you have to pull over if the car with flashing lights is not red or blue like a cop? Sorry also is it illegal to block somebody from leaving a community(even if the roads are public) just because they want to pull you over for speeding? p.s. i don't live there so i didn't sign any agreements.
What kind of companies would handle Social Security if it were privatized? Would companies like AIG handle private Social Security accounts? I don't know too much about the plan to privatize Social Security, I'm just assuming privatizing means private companies would hold the accounts. If a private company were holding my account and the company fails, who would save my account in a completely free market system with no government intervention?
I want to join a private security company, I need some info.? Let me put this bluntly: I am looking as PSC's as a possible career choice in my future. However, I don't have military training. I know I can get military training, but I have to pay for it out of my own wallet. Does anyone know of any places that offer PSC training, and which companies would consider hiring someone with only PSC training, but no military history per-se. Please, no anti-PSC bias here, this is a serious topic.
Why do private security guards question passengers before boarding a flight ? This was unusual. Before boarding a flight to North America, private security guards, NOT government Customs officers, were questioning, almost interrogating, each and every passenger before clearing them to board the flight. I didn't get how and why a private security guard working for a private company has the authority to determine this. I also don't get why passengers are questioned at all ? Oh and they had laptops but i figured that was to scan the passports and send the info to the US, i think ? Does anybody know more about this ?
can a police officer in Pennsylvania own a private security company? I put myself through school working private security, and now am employed as a police officer. My question is can I start my own private security company while employed as a police officer. Pennsylvania loves to regulate this type of thing, and I can't find any info about who may govern this. I also can not really ask one of the local companies...since it is their business I plan to take if I can start my own firm. I am not looking to do private investigating...just basic building security. any info you may have or direction you can point would be greatly appreciated.
Can Private Security Contractors in the UK be armed? Hi there, I have long been interested in starting up my own security company after completing military service. This would work on a contractual basis (for instance, a research and development establishment would offer a contract to guard and protect it's property and assets). I would aim to recruit primarily ex-military personnel, but would of course consider applications from ex-armed police officers etc etc. My question is, are any such private security personnel, working in the UK itself, allowed to be armed, given our civilina gun laws? Thanks! Apologies, I meant "civilian".
Can security guards/ private bodyguards carry weapons in the UK? I have noticed that security guards in other countries carry weapons and handcuffs - and quite often guns, even in supermarkets etc. Even in Europe it would appear private companies can equip their employees with weapons as I saw a bank van in France which was staffed by men with tasers. In addition, obviously the government employed bodyguards carry guns, but what about private ones? People like Roman Abramovich must have armed guards. However, I was almost completely sure that the police are the only people allowed to routinely carry weapons in the UK - am i right?
I am a Ugandan Security Specialist contractor working for US Troops in Iraq under a Private Security company.? If i am working as Security Specialist contractor for Coalition Forces in Iraq at GS-12 scale under an American owned private security company, while earning a monthly salary of US Dollars 600 only, is that the stipulated amount i am entitled to as per the United States of American employment policy?. If not, who is supposed to be notified or supervise this and put right any anomalies?. Note below business background: (a)The client is the Coalition Forces - Iraq, (b)The service provider is SOC Llc - American private security company, and, (c)Recruitment and transportation of Reserve Forces from Uganda to Iraq by Dreshak International - Dubai based. In your own calculations, what's the reasonable Gross and Net pay per month, etc, as issued out from US DOD to the final beneficiary - the Ugandan Security Guard?. Thank you.
How would a security company employer look upon a criminal justice degree earned online? i want to get an online criminal justice degree online from either troy state university, or pheonix, but i'm wondering if my employer would, say, think i took the easy way of getting my degree, or frown uponme having earned my degree online. of course i would be applying to either a police department or a private security company. 10 points to the most explained answer;<) thanks todd. i'll vote u best answer, and yes i'm refering to troy in alabama. i'm near birmingham
Why doesn't Congress draft the private security firms in Iraq, into the military? Even Defense Secretary Gates has concerns about the oversight of these security firms. Maliki wants Blackwater out of Iraq. The US government often drafted private companies into the military during WWII. The government could double the US military presence in Iraq overnight. Probably at half the cost. Why not draft every US citizen, who is currently in Iraq and carrying a weapon, into the military?
What would a private plan offering all that Social Security does cost? Whenever I see debates on the value of Social Security, they always focus on retirement and how much better someone would be if they could invest 12.8% of their income in a retirement account. This always bugs me since Social Security offers quite a few benefits that are not usually discussed.(http://www.pueblo.gsa.gov/cic_text/fed_prog/ssundben/ssundben.pdf). It's kind of like talking with someone about cars, but all that they care about is how fast it goes. So what do you think it would cost for a private company to offer what Social Security does. Any actuaries out there who are up to the challenge? This question is not intended as a debate as to whether Social Security should be privatized. All I am asking for is a rational basis on which to compare government done Social Security to private offerings. There are a few ways to go about this. One would be to analyze what is spent and see what you could get on the market for your 12.8%. Another would be to go backwards from benefits paid and try to figure out what a company should charge for that benefit level and what that would work out to against current income demographics. This question is really not that hard. I'm just looking for a dollar amount with some justification. Instead I am getting responses of the irrational sort that prompted the question in the first place.
Start-up fund necessary to launch a private security company in Haiti ? With the situation in Haiti, I am considering starting a private security force. Some of the things I know I will need are: -Governmental license -Insurance -Weapon permits -Training Facility -Recruitment of experienced military staff -Equipments: Armored vehicles, flat jackets, weapons, radios High Freq, satellite phones, transponders -Logistical material: food, accommodations, flights My idea is to train sub-contractors with ex-military and police personnel to provide *protective services/escort *crowd control *physical security. Considering I want to start with a 6 men team. What is the start-up capital am I looking at ?
Has Blackwater (the private security company) hired Israeli mercenaries to commit genocide against Iraqis? Jeremy Scahill's book, "Blackwater Down" says that of the more than 100,000 mercenary soldiers hired by the US through Blackwater, (and receive daily pay 100x more than US soldiers), many are Israeli MOSSAD mercenaries who are accustomed to killing massive numbers of civilians at once (from their experience in Palestine). There have been many car bombs that have killed large numbers of civilians at once. What's true? Has anyone read the book?
Can a private security guard called himself a sergent? I think they are breaking the law by doing so, but the security company insists that "sergent" is a rank and it does not imply police officer and it is perfectly fine in California law. Is that true? I always thought sergent is reserved for military and law enforcement only. Any one can shed some light on this? I am not quite convinced that "sergent" can be used "just like a supervisor" by a contracted security service. I wish to start a private security company, in north carolina, what type of licensing will I need to have? It’s basically going to be me and my friend, maybe one or two other ex-cops. Primarily we’d be doing manned patrols, I'd like to offer vehicular patrols, hidden camera/mic services, nanny cams, private investigations, low profile protections, personal escorting. Later on I think being armed with firearms may be useful, but as of now I think we’d be working with non-lethal weaponry. I'm looking for any licensing requirements, how much will we need insurance for, what are the laws for civilian detainment.
I would like to begin using marked cars for my private security company, do I need any special licenses? I will be working in North Carolina, and possibly South Carolina, other than having it designated as a business vehicle, what else do I need to do as far as licensing goes? They will be used to patrol, and deter. Any lights I choose to put in will be up to legal par (as a former LEO I am well aware of those laws) (just writing my thoughs here) Inevitably they will be on public roadways. It just seams like there should be something to designate a security vehicle to the police and public. Lets say I was in a white crown vic with visibly mounted LEDs in the windows, for the public there is no way to know what color they are, or if that is a law enforcement vehicle. Other than lights, what do I need to have these vehicles legitimate?
How do I start my own private Security Company? I have worked in Private Security for about 9 years now. I have also been a corrections officer, firefighter, emt, 911 dispatcher, and emergency equipment installer. I want to go into business for myself. I am presently a manager/supervisor of a VERY small company and several of my employees would come on board with me. I have some ideas for some potential clients also. I just dont know how to get started. Also my credit is HORRIBLE so I doubt I could get a loan on my own.
iraq private security? My husband is a sheriff's deputy and has been for 13 years, prior to that was military during desert storm. We have been married for 15 years this november. I am concerned about this company that has repedely tried to convince him to come to either iraq, or he has the choice of two other places and train the iraqy police officers. He will have to be there for a year at a time and then he has the option to re-up. I am freaking out. We have 3 girls. We need him. Has anyone been over there doing this? Was it dangerous? Did you get to contact home often? Were there married men there, or mostly single? He checked out some website that shows who has died over there and there were some of these private contracted securities companies workers. Will the sheriffs dept. even save his job for him? Help! Scared and confused. Dyna Corp is the name of the company I think.
I am starting a private security company; what licenses will I need first for my business, then my employees? I will be operating in North Carolina, and possibly South Carolina, doing guard/escort work, with small operating clientele, something we can manage with less than 10 employees. For now we do not wish to carry firearms, only less than lethal weaponry, such as mace/oc spray, a baton, and possibly for some employees a taser. Aside from anything my business needs, such as a license, and insurance, what does this field require as far as specialty licenses, trainings, classes and or, certifications go?
How do I join a private merchant marine security company (A.K.A "Pirate Hunters")? You probably haven't heard because they usually don't televise this, but there are thousands of unreported pirate attacks on Merchant Vessels all over the world every year. These pirates usually don't harm the crews and just make off with the ship's port money, but it can get ugly sometimes. I want to become an "ocean policeman" as it were. The pay is probably really good, and there would be minimal danger to myself because these pirates are usually very poorly armed and trained. btw, I swear I'm not being a "John Wayne Wannabe"!
Does Brown and Root use a Private Military Company/firm for security? Does Brown and Root use a Private Military Company/firm for security for its convoys or does it rely on the military? In 2004 I know the truck drivers refused to work after an ambush. At that that time they were being guarded by the military but has it changed since? If yes, do you know which company (ies)? Thanks Let me clarify, I don't want to gain employment. I am writing a paper and just need the info. Thanks!
