Why did Bush broker a deal with Musharraf and Benazir Bhutto to return to Pakistan, and not protect her life?

Their is questionable democracy in Pakistan, and former Pakistani Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto would have helped bring true democracy to Pakistan. Since the Bush Administration encouraged her to return to Pakistan, Condeleezza Rice and company should have had the CIA, our Military, or one of our private security firms such as Black Water to protect her life. 1. The United States is not in the business of protecting world leaders other than our own. It was Benazir Bhutto's wish to return to Pakistan, and she was well aware of the security situation in that state. She knew when she returned that there was a very good chance she would not live to see a new year.

4. You raise an incredibly important question. It is true that Blackwater up to now has not lost a US diplomat. But the cost in terms of innocent Iraqis killed to clear the way for these diplomats is deplorable. I think that the courageous former Prime Minister was determined to effect positive change in Pakistan, but was determined to do so as a Pakistani using Pakistani methods to meet Pakistani objectives. I do not dispute that the US Administration encouraged this Pakistani heorine to return to Pakistan, but believe that she based her decision on what she deeply believed was best for her country, not on what was best for the US or any false US pledges of security. Your question raises many important questions that I am not qualified to answer, but which need to be discussed.
5. The Bush administration (CIA) warned Bhutto that she was being targeted by the terrorists. She was offered protection and she turned it down. The liberals are whining about the war on terrorists led by the President. Then they turn around and blame him for terrorist attacks. That is very typical leftist thinking. I suppose you have a pimple on your butt that he caused too.
