Changed Jobs and have already satisfied the social security tax limit with the old job.?

I changed jobs in September and had already paid the maximum tax for social security $6324.00. Now am paying again the full amount deducted with the new job. Is there a way to adjust my deductions for the remainder of the year to not pay double social sedcurity tax?

  1. Yes, call personnel.
  2. Where are you really? You posted under UK, but talk about a dollar amount taken out for social security which sounds more like US. Your new employer is required to withhold the ss, you can't get that stopped. But you can get it refunded. When you file your tax return for this year, you'll file a form 1040 (not A or EZ) and show the excess on line 67.
