Where do private security companies like the former Blackwater get their weapons from?
I mean do they buy them as a company and then give out to contractors, or does each contractor buy his own weapon? Or the government supplies them with guns?

- the larger companies have their own equipment that they issue out, some of the smaller ones require taht you provide your own.
- If you get a FFL (federal firearms license) you have the option to choose your classification. You can be a retailer, a distributor, or a manufacturer. If you choose manufacturer you can design and build your own guns. This is how the military gets their weaponry, most of the time. Outside companies design a weapon and try to sell it to the military. I'm sure each individual contractor requires a gun license, at least to carry in the US, but outside the US it doesn't matter.
- They buy them. With a class lll fire arms permit, you can pretty much buy anything.
